Creative Chaos Award!

Woo Hoo I got an award on my Birthday! This is a great present. I want to say Thank you to kofegeek for nominating me for the Creative Chaos Award. I definitely recommend you stop by her awesome blog. You will be amazed with her mathematical facts, funny stories, along with so much more. I love the kofegeek’s blog!

Well, the ‘rules’ in accepting the Creative Chaos Award are pretty chaos :P Here are the rules I copied from kofegeek.

1. You must tell 3 completely weird things about your habits. If you claim to have no weird habits, you’re lying and we’ll have to send an investigative team for further analysis.

2. You must tell why you look at the “glass half full” scenario and ask “what? No coffee?”

3. Complete any one of the following essay questions:

A. You find yourself in a desolate place when your car breaks down. You have no cell phone service, no Walmart (I know, GASP, right?), and only a candy bar for food. It is 150 miles to the closest town. What color are your pants and why?

B. You find yourself having to ride an elevator quite frequently. How do you pass the time to show off your creativity?

4. Then you are to nominate 5 random people and let them know.

5. Make sure to show proper gratitude to the person who nominated you whether that is to shower them with gifts, prizes, and cash or to see that they are put into a clown costume and photographed for internet mocking.

6. Make sure to post the award somewhere other than the underside of the toilet seat.

My answers:

1.  Bad habits:   1) I pick my nose in public and wipe them on the bottom of my shoe if I don’t have a tissue  😀   2) I pretend to sky down hill in my kitchen while I am cooking.  🙂    3) I talk to myself and answer myself when I am alone, or in public, or at work…pretty much at anytime you can find me talking to myself.

 2.  “Half Full or empty?” It depends on if you poured the glass, or was given the glass and drank it.  And whether it be half empty or half full if it’s coffee I will drink it 🙂

3.  For the essay questions I go with B…. I pretend I am on a spaceship that is floating. I stand in the middle of the elevator with my arms out and do the jump when it reaches the end of the ride. 🙂

“Elegant Death”

She walks the earth, wings upon her feet,

the light of the moon shinning upon her blackened soul.

The death upon her blade drips its crimson glory upon the mossy ground

Her body sways

She is the walker of dark nights

Low lying fogs slowly creeps up her body,

hugging her thighs as if keeping her feet connected to the ground.

Her ivory skin is bathed in black satin laced with red silk

Her beauty is flawless….eyes gleaming of fire,

a voice of liquid velvet.

She hunts the night seeking her next prey

“Death will come to you all” She whispers

…to be so fortunate to die by her blade

……swift and merciless

Without knowing it was death who whispered in your ear.

4 letters (brief explicate content)

In 4 letters we define our feelings….whether they are feelings of hate, anger, sadness, devotion, longing… A single 4 letter word beginning with or followed by “You” can affect the soul on the deepest level…. “Fuck you”… “You Shit”… “Damn You”…. “Love You”.  Whether they are whispered or yelled, silent or written these words form the twisted patterns of our emotions and thoughts. We express ourselves with words written and spoken, as others use art, music and dance to show such sentiment.

Whom we say these words to depends on how we feel, who we are around, and what impression we are wanting to give that person. The word that came to mind when I started writing this article was LOVE. It is rediculous how much we abuse this word these days. Such a precious word that should be spoken between loved ones in the most tender of scenes.

What is it to love….

By Wikipedia definition:

Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.

[1] Love is also a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection; and “the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another”.

[2] Love may also be described as actions towards others or oneself based on compassion, or as actions towards others based on affection.

The other explanation I liked was when it said that: Love may be understood as part of the survival instinct, a function to keep human beings together against menaces and to facilitate the continuation of the species.

To me love is that feeling you get when you see your lover and you know that you would do anything for them, and are willing to sacrifice your selfish ways and put them above your own. When we go back in history to the time of carriages girdles and fluffy butted dresses, the women were spoken of as the most precious jewels that were treasured respected and honored. A woman was respected for her beauty, virtue, devotion and noble principles. A man was respected because of his loyalty virtue and noble principles as well. They both honored and loved each other without question.  (I am sure there was more, however, being denied of living in that time I do not know all they valued in one another)

It seems that honor, virtue and noble principles are lacking these days in many women, men and even children are not being taught these valuable lessons.

Unselfish love, not asking for anything in return, not expecting praise for loving someone, but simply loving them for who they are completely and knowing that by doing so  you are showing them the deepest of loyalty respect and devotion. To me that is love.

…as always your comments are welcome… to me there are no wrong answers only personal thoughts that are very valuable.

Sun Glorious Sun

Today is proving to be a sunshine filled day. I have been waiting for continual days of sun all winter. The gloominess of the season was starting to wear on everyone in the house.

I feel like it is the beginning of a great year. I have two beautiful children, one starting soccer this spring and the other will do fall full contact football. Bring on the sports! I have an amazing loving boyfriend whom shows me more love and compassion than I knew possible.

Work started up again and the plant nursery is in full swing. Bring on spring! I feel strong, confident and happy. I thank God for all that we have been given. There are always lessons to be learned and growth to be experienced. With the right people by your side, God, a strong mind, and the will to concur, anything is possible. We are only limited by what we allow ourselves to be limited by.

I believe that the key is to do what you know is right. That gut feeling you feel and that little voice you hear inside your head.  Stand up for yourself and what you know is true. Show that you are a confident honorable individual who has a good head on their shoulders. Allow yourself to be free of fear and the insecurities fear brings. Learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them. Take them with you, always knowing that road you do not want to travel again.

Start each day by making it better than the day before. Not by saying “I will try to not mess up”.  But say instead ” I will never fuck up”.  It is always possible to lead an honest truthful devoted life. So find the strength inside yourself to be that person each day.

If we all hold ourselves to a higher standard, we will in return create a better sense of humanity among ourselves as individuals and as a culture.

..morning reflection and randomness…

Well it’s that time of year again..I cant say it wasnt nice having the winter off but next winter I am going to get a part-time job. There is no point at not making money if you are able.

The plant nursery is starting to set up this week and its back to my hard-core workouts every day. I do love my job, plants don’t talk back even if they prick you once in a while. 🙂 It is a lot of walking, hauling, pruning, and cleaning to be done, not to mention a ton of plant knowledge to be learned.

I loved having the time to spend with my kids, helping out at their school, and being there when they got off the bus. I finished writing a book, and got all my blogs set up and realized the world of blogging is quite fun and interesting.

I was able to make dinners for my kids and boyfriend a lot more than I usually do. Granted I did not explore too many new recipes but I will work on that continually. I learned a lot this winter about my relationship, all good things ❤ man I love him. I learned more about my kids as always, they are growing up so fast. We started new rules in the house to instill more respect. I find it harder to get kids to understand respect for what they have when they don’t live out in the woods and have to haul in wood for heat or water to wash in like I did. Being creative with instilling proper morals is something I am getting better at. 🙂

Anyways…I sit here getting ready to take the kid to the bus stop then go shopping for work clothes. It snowed last week so I am getting some thermals just in case it decides to do it again. My coffee got cold, and that is a pity 🙂 Time to head out and face the world of sports bras, socks and long johns! Better get a cup to go because from what spell check is telling me I can not spell today!

“The song of a Child”

“The song of a Child”

“A child doesn’t need a beat or rhythm to sing a song.
They are each born with a mystical sense of music,
and interpretation of self.”
“From her mouth so innocent
comes forth a song….
A song like none other.
She lifts her head to the heavens
singing of the angels above.
She sings of the butterflies tickling her nose,
and the soft grass under her feet.
She sings tales of woodland creatures
and how she dreams to run with them.
Her voice carries with it the harmony of the winds,
and the beauty of the rainbows.
As if having wings of her own she glides
across the field of tall green grass,
and dances with her sweet melody.
Her song is carried by the wind,
in hopes of reaching a tired soul in need of strength.
Hearing the delicate song of a child,
brings great peace and serenity to all that will listen.
May her song lift your spirits
and soothe your troubled soul.”
This is my first post in March! 🙂 And my first collaboration with Sylvia Hase from, and Sylvia is a talented mathematician and draws in ways that I wish I could. Flourless Dark Chocolate Espresso Cookies w/Butterscotch Chips

Baker Bettie

Yes, I said flourless.  But no, don’t change the channel! These cookies are for everyone! And by everyone, I mean those who are gluten eatin’ and those who are gluten avoidin’!

I made these cookies last night and I couldn’t believe how amazing they were. I was so excited!

Then I went to take pictures of them today and I wasn’t so excited.  They were really hard to photograph and I just wasn’t pleased.  But I decided to make due anyway.

Then my husband told me they looked like “turd cookies.”  Uh. Gross.  So I debated not putting them up.  You see my husband is not only my biggest fan, but he can be one of my biggest critics too.  That is why I love him so much.  He challenges me.

Meet my other biggest critic. Our grumpy kitty, Shadow, who is not amused by me or my sous chef…
